Each One a "Trip of a Lifetime".

When you fly for Free it is easy to go to the World's most scenic spots.

When you walk on a trip, you gain much in health, inspiration, soul satisfaction, and experiences unimagined .

Modern Maturity has done it again with a wonderful
article on "Walks".

There are many ways to look at walks. If your main transportation is your feet than you can see and experience things that you would never be able to otherwise do.

There is something so basic, primative, almost primeval about walking long distances,
going back to the days when walking was our main mode of transportation.

Of course, these Walks are of varying difficulties and all Walks are not for everyone. They run the gambit from a slow therapeutic country ramble in England to a difficult, challenging, sometimes wet slogging Trek through the Milford Track. It all depends on your idea of a "good time".

When visiting Milford sound I saw dozen of hearty souls, covered in mud, who's feet were literally raw, red and shredding from spending many days out on the Track, and yet their faces beamed as they  spoke of  their experience.

Each one of these Walks represents a unique part of the world, some of the most breathtaking scenery imaginable, justly deserving of the title "places of a lifetime" to visit. Some of these places can only be accessed and seen  on foot.

Scenery that will take your breath away!!

Standing at the edge of Milford Sound on New Zealand's South Island, a place of magnificent natural beauty, I watched the Trekkers battered, but not beaten coming back from the Milford Track. The look on their faces was more pleasure than pain, somewhere between relief and ecstasy. There is nothing like traveling close to the ground.
