"ELVIS"MADE ME DO IT!After a marvelous almost FREE flight out to Vegas, (sometimes it pays to pay if its cheap enough), we settled into our new home for four days, the Paris Hotel, not to be missed! No matter what time of day or night, it is always magically and very romantically "Evening in Paris". I walked around this gorgeous casino just marveling at the thousands of machines emanating lights, bells, and wacky sounds. The clanking money sounds are always my favorite. I couldn't wait to put in my first quarter to get the waterfall of quarters going. Everywhere you looked someone was raking it in. Of course, not everyone was winning. I told myself to be careful and guard my little stash , but when I saw a Japanese man going crazy on the Elvis Machines I was hooked. There was no way I was going to leave there. First, I watched in amazement as Elvis belted out a tune, his husky voice accompanied by his guitar congratulated the winner pushing him on to new heights. The wheel circling round until it hit the mark that sent buckets and buckets of quarters spilling out. The man continued to play as Elvis crooned another tune and then it happened, he got the Jackpot! The machine lit up like a Christmas tree, the red light like a beacon blinking and going around. Sirens were blaring, as the man got enough money to pay for a week's stay at the hotel. After that I was doubly hooked. I sat at that very same machine for hours, just listening to and talking to Elvis. No, I didn't win the Jackpot, nor did I win it on any of the other 7 Elvis machines. But, with Elvis' encouragement I played on. I got close several times finding myself ahead, as I played into the wee hours of the morning. While I was playing Elvis and I were soul mates. He continued to croon to me whispering words of encouragement as only he can. With the Jordanaire's music thumping away in the background I continued to play, having a great time, in another galaxy far away. Yes, Vegas is intoxicating and very entertaining, if you can manage to tear yourself away. I finally got up the will power and left with a few cups of quarters. Amazing!! Thanks Elvis, for a Great Night! I saw lots of people using "Player's Cards" at the slot machines. I really had a great time on the slots, so for me playing for four hours at a time was no problem. What I didn't know then and wished I had, is that you can get paid for it, if you play as little as I did. You can ask at your hotel. Vegas is a fantasy place, but you have to use your head, too. So, when I recently learned that not only can you have a great time but get FREE comps for what you are doing, I decided to investigate. I learned that Casinos will pay you for playing with them. This is their version of Frequent Flyer Programs, only its more dramatic and immediate, as you can get anything from FREE rooms to food, limos, even refunds on your money.
