  RAIL EUROPE - for truly
independent travel!

Training is the best way to go!
Jump on the train and go!
Read about traveling by train in Switzerland.

I just finished making my Spring 2002 travel arrangements and have to tell you how very pleased I was to be able to purchase my Train and Car travel all in the same place at the same time.

I went to the Rail Europe Web site, right from HERE
picked out the pass that was just right for my needs and took it from there.  When I  finished putting all the items that  will make this a memorable trip into my shopping basket, it was only a matter of checking out.  In less than one week I had all the vouchers, tickets, reservations delivered to my door. The package also included a beautiful map of the area where I will be traveling and much information. It was so easy to purchase just the right amount of days of train travel and rental car, as they give you the option of adding on to the basic pass.  Once you have the pass, the add-on days are much cheaper than anything you could buy. The train was $30 a day and the car was $37.  Try finding that if you are buying them independent of each other. Now, I can relax knowing that all my ground transportation is set.
The $11 reservation for the TGV was quite the bargain when you realize that a point to point ticket from Paris to another part of France on the TGV can run more than $15O and you still have to pay for a reservation.

I am going to a part of France where I have never been and so am relying heavily on the links on this Web site to hook me up with really quality companies that stand behind their products and give me great value for money.  You can't get any better than Rail Europe. Am booking most of my accommodations with our new Partner, TravelNow . I  found them to have really great service. Not only good selection and cheap prices, but research about each destination, too!

I have been using  Rail Europe for years and always have carefree trips.
This year,  I made two TGV
reservations, with my France Rail/Drive Pass.

It is  much cheaper to buy a "Pass" for only one country, or for three neighboring countries, if you are not planning on traveling too far. All their passes give many different extra perks like a FREE ride on the boats on The Seine in Paris and 50% off private railways.  It even saved me 50% on the Eurostar which I will take to England. I saved so much that I am able to go First Class, Club Car, best way to see the French Countryside, because I was already a passholder.

All you need to do is click on any link from here for the Rail Europe Web site and they will do the rest. If you prefer to speak to a person, its easy to call them on an 800 number after you have picked out the items that you need.

I even bought a one day "Museum Pass" ($16) for up to 70 museums in Paris. Wow, that's going to be quite the day! Even better than the low cost of the pass is the fact that it saves all the waiting in line. With the pass you walk right in!

If you have any questions about Rail Europe (Eurail) or any of their products,
please email me , as I have used many of them over the years and can give you tips on the best way to use them.

Best Wishes and Happy Traveling!

Train it to all your favorite European Destinations.
Cafe de Flore Here I am with my friend Frederique, who made the trip from her lovely home on the Atlantic coast of France to meet me in Paris.  At Cafe de Flore you can sample the "Greatest" Hot Chocolate in the World. For all of you Chocoholics, it's like drinking the best Belgian Chocolate bar, hot! The spoon almost stands up by itself.
Doesn't this look like a scene right out of a French Impressionist's Painting? I always stay around the corner from this Cafe, so I am right in the middle of everything. When you fly for FREE and Train it, you can go all over Europe on a shoestring budget without sacrificing the best that Europe has to offer.

Our Background

Starting well before World War II as a commercial representation of the French railroads, the Rail Europe Group was created in its present form in 1991 when the wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of SNCF, the French National Railroad, merged with the North American arm of the Swiss Federal Railways. While it is still a subsidiary of the SNCF and the CFF (Swiss Federal Railways), Rail Europe is also the official North American representative for 60 European railroads, the latest addition being the 25 Train Operating Companies of Britain.

Over the past decade, Rail Europe has evolved into the largest distributor of European travel related products, catering to both the leisure and the business traveler. Each year, more than one million American leisure and business travelers use one of our products.

Our Products

Rail Europe is your one source for European travel. We have a wide range of products to fit your every need. From transatlantic air at highly competitive rates, to complete rail passes, hotels and car rentals.

Not only do we provide the famous Eurailpass and Europass ®, for travel in continental Europe, we now offer a complete line of BritRail passes, plus point-to-point tickets on any route in Europe. We offer the most extensive line of European rail and rail-related travel products, covering 35 European countries. In addition to other exciting journey trains, we give you Eurostar, the new international standard in rail travel, which offers service between London, Paris and Brussels through the Channel Tunnel.

Combine this with our heralded "Rail 'n Drive" packages, which are to Europe what the fly/drive concept is to America, rental cars from Avis and Hertz, transatlantic air to Europe on major carriers for our American clients and over 1,500 hotel choices, and you'll see why we are truly your one source for European travel.

Our Service

Service is extremely important to us, and unique technology has been developed by the Rail Europe Group in order to meet the growing demands of the travel community.

Euronet, our proprietary reservation system, offers an on-line link to the European railroads' seat inventory. Euronet is currently used in Rail Europe's three reservation centers (in Portland, OR, and Toronto, ON) in which hundreds of telephone sales representatives handle arrangements for travelers or travel agents. Moreover, 400 travel agency partner locations are directly connected to Euronet, which enables them to book and issue train passes and tickets within their premises.

Our Commitment

Rail Europe is committed to providing you with top quality products and top quality service. We're here to help you maximize your time and your dollars to make the very most out of your travel to Europe -- whether vacation or business.
