Jump on the train and go! Read about traveling by train in Switzerland. I just finished making my Spring 2002 travel arrangements and have to tell you how very pleased I was to be able to purchase my Train and Car travel all in the same place at the same time. I went to the Rail Europe Web site, right from HERE picked out the pass that was just right for my needs and took it from there. When I finished putting all the items that will make this a memorable trip into my shopping basket, it was only a matter of checking out. In less than one week I had all the vouchers, tickets, reservations delivered to my door. The package also included a beautiful map of the area where I will be traveling and much information. It was so easy to purchase just the right amount of days of train travel and rental car, as they give you the option of adding on to the basic pass. Once you have the pass, the add-on days are much cheaper than anything you could buy. The train was $30 a day and the car was $37. Try finding that if you are buying them independent of each other. Now, I can relax knowing that all my ground transportation is set. The $11 reservation for the TGV was quite the bargain when you realize that a point to point ticket from Paris to another part of France on the TGV can run more than $15O and you still have to pay for a reservation. I am going to a part of France where I have never been and so am relying heavily on the links on this Web site to hook me up with really quality companies that stand behind their products and give me great value for money. You can't get any better than Rail Europe. Am booking most of my accommodations with our new Partner, TravelNow . I found them to have really great service. Not only good selection and cheap prices, but research about each destination, too! I have been using Rail Europe for years and always have carefree trips. This year, I made two TGV reservations, with my France Rail/Drive Pass. It is much cheaper to buy a "Pass" for only one country, or for three neighboring countries, if you are not planning on traveling too far. All their passes give many different extra perks like a FREE ride on the boats on The Seine in Paris and 50% off private railways. It even saved me 50% on the Eurostar which I will take to England. I saved so much that I am able to go First Class, Club Car, best way to see the French Countryside, because I was already a passholder. All you need to do is click on any link from here for the Rail Europe Web site and they will do the rest. If you prefer to speak to a person, its easy to call them on an 800 number after you have picked out the items that you need. I even bought a one day "Museum Pass" ($16) for up to 70 museums in Paris. Wow, that's going to be quite the day! Even better than the low cost of the pass is the fact that it saves all the waiting in line. With the pass you walk right in! If you have any questions about Rail Europe (Eurail) or any of their products, please email me , as I have used many of them over the years and can give you tips on the best way to use them. Best Wishes and Happy Traveling! Vicki Mills |
