"FLYING PERKS" How many times have you said that you wished you had more money for travel? Believe it or not, having the money is not the key to being able to afford more travel. The key is knowing how to lower your costs so that your travel becomes more affordable. If you could fly all over the world for not much more than it costs you to stay home, would you travel more? When you FLY for FREE it definitely becomes more affordable. You don't have to be a frequent flyer to gain the ability to fly frequently. Even though this sounds like a zen riddle it just means that with our book, you will learn how to gain so many bonus miles and how to use Airline promotions that you won't have to buy "Expensive" airline tickets. You may, however decide to buy cheap tickets for some of the reasons that I have stated below in Strategy #9. My strategies reward you more the further you go. It's literally the "BIG" tickets, to Asia, Hawaii, Australia/New Zealand, to name a few, that give you the most value when you can get that ticket for FREE with Frequent Flyer bonus miles, or vouchers. When you truly understand how "Frequent Flyer Programs" work, you will be better equipped to make good travel decisions and find yourself real travel deals. Strategy #9 will help you decide when it is to your advantage to buy an airline ticket or to use your Frequent Flyer Bonus Miles to obtain that ticket. Remember, this is only one strategy that is based on knowing the other strategies, so you will do even better with this one, if you have our book. DO NOT use your Frequent Flyer bonus miles for flights that
cost under $250/$300
to get FREE Tickets. If you do you are wasting your money, as Frequent
Flyer
Bonus Miles are a currency, just like money and the bonus miles that
you use for
FREE flights will end up costing you more than if you paid for that ticket.
Example: Miami to San Francisco
on United, September 26,
1999, was $178. At this price it makes more
sense to buy the ticket. If you had used your
25,000 Bonus Miles (usual cost of a FREE domestic
award) to get that ticket, you would have spent
between $500 or $625 worth of bonus miles for
that ticket , (at 2 or 2 1/2 cents
a mile.)
Rule of thumb: If the ticket costs less than $300 buy it,
For International flights $400 to $500 is the range where
you should buy the ticket to save those miles for
really expensive flights, costing $1,000 and up.
Why would you want to give up $500 worth of bonus
miles for a ticket that you can buy for only $178?
Don't forget to buy that

the ticket.

WHAT YOU have to GAIN

1. You will be saving those miles for other trips where you
will
get more value for out of them.
2 .You will be gaining more Frequent Flyer bonus miles (for this
paid ticket) that you can put toward that big, expensive flight
to New Zealand/Australia, Europe or Asia (with two stops,

3. Gain even more bonus miles when you charge the ticket on
the Airline's credit card.
4. Since you will be flying on a paid ticket, you will be eligible
to be paid for giving up your seat (BUMPED), and could
end up flying for FREE anyway, as Airlines pay $200 to $500
per flight for giving up a seat. (Happened to me twice in
1999 and twice in one day in 2000. I ended up with over $1,000
in vouchers for a little inconvenience)

5. The only exception to this strategy would be if you have our
book and have gained so much mileage, that you have more
than you need for yourself and your family. Then, you might
want to use your bonus miles for shorter cheaper domestic
tickets. It all depends how well
